We Will Make It

A Daily Grace Devotional

 1-2 Minute Read

“He will also keep you firm to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord” (1 Corinthians 1:8-9).

Many believers struggle with a question that promotes fear and insecurity. “Will I make it?” We see our inadequacies and think that success in the Christian life is up to us. Then we ask ourselves, “Do I have what it takes?” That’s the wrong question. The proper question is, “Does Jesus have all it takes to finish His work?” and the answer is an unequivocal “Yes.”

The original word behind “He will also keep you firm to the end” is used in two ways. It refers both to a foundation and to a legal guarantee. “He will keep you firm” means that the foundation upon which our Christian lives are built is unshakable. It is reliable. It also is a legal guarantee. The conditions will never change. God’s promises can be trusted. “You will be blameless” doesn’t mean that we are perfect, it does mean that no charge will be brought against us. It could be translated “unaccused.”

When I stand before God He won’t say, “Wally these are your sins but I forgive you.” They won’t be mentioned at all. This may sound too good to be true. How can I be sure? The answer is simple. “God is faithful who has called you into fellowship with His Son.”

When we believe in Jesus we stand on a firm foundation, we are free from accusation and securing these truths is a faithful God. Will I make it? Yes. Not because I’m perfect but because Jesus is and I trust Him. Behind that stands a guarantee from a faithful God who will keep His promise to me.

What is a Grenade Launcher?

Grenade Launcher is a word picture we use to describe a ministry or person who creates and/or performs a featured grace grenade. Grace Grenades are selected as standalone items and are not a full endorsement of any other items or activities of a particular ministry or person. However, if a grace grenade is tagged with “Official Grenade Launcher” it means we recommend and are comfortable with their public offerings.
