• I was a sucker for the sales pitch of “self-improvement.” God tells us we are perfected in Christ.
• Salvation really is as easy as believing, breathing, walking, talking, or whatever else we find effortless. I’ve done much in vain and some in Christ and there is always a clear difference in the process and outcome. When it’s out of self-effort I’m either disappointed or proud – neither is good. When I’ve completed a project through His rest, I’m always happy and humbled. I can’t take credit for His work.
• I’m freed up to love people the way they need to be loved now that I’m not preoccupied with myself. I’m complete in Christ, so why compare?
