- “The victorious Christian life is nothing less than the life of Christ being expressed through the child of God. Any behavior that is not dependent on Him living His life through us comes from the flesh.” Chapter 7 – I was like the proverbial monkey with my hand caught in a trap holding the banana of my good works and efforts. Grace revealed that not only “could” I let go of the banana, but I MUST let go of the banana to see real victorious living.
- “A life built on Christian values is a caricature of New Testament Christianity. It is not God’s purpose that our lives be built on a system of values. It is His desire that they be built on the person of His Son.” Chapter 8 – Grace gifts me an opportunity to start and maintain a rich and fulfilling relationship with God that transforms me and reflects my new (real) self in Him.
- “Perhaps you too have been conditioned to view certain aspects of the Christian life as your spiritual duty. As you move into the grace walk, you will see how grace elevates these same responsibilities to the place of privilege and delight.” Chapter 10 – There is a simple yet profound pleasure in doing something for a loved one out of my own initiative versus in response to a request. This satisfaction is magnified exponentially as Grace equips me to become who I’ve always longed to be.
