Heaven is a Place of Worship

A Daily Grace Devotional

 1-2 Minute Read

“You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being” (Revelation 4:11).

The book of Revelation is as much about worship as it is about anything. When John gave us a glimpse into heaven he showed us how the inhabitants honor God continually. God is the Creator and that lies behind our worship, whether it’s in heaven or on earth. The fact that God made everything we see around us is enough to lead us to express our awe and admiration. Our God is “worthy” to be praised.

I don’t understand a lot about computers but I don’t have to know all the details in order to operate one. I can trust the ones who made them to give me the tools I need to use them. While intelligent men and women strive to understand the mysteries of the universe we are content in knowing the One who created it. The One who created this world can enable me to live in it successfully.

The only proper response to God for any of us is worship. He doesn’t receive glory, honor and power from us. They are already His. We are to simply acknowledge that. It takes a lot of pressure off of us. We can explore what He has done. Thank God for scientists and doctors who have learned more than we have discovered personally. What they have found has blessed us.

Yet, when we reach the end of our understanding there is no cause for alarm. We just pause at that point and worship. We join with all of heaven in declaring “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.”

What is a Grenade Launcher?

Grenade Launcher is a word picture we use to describe a ministry or person who creates and/or performs a featured grace grenade. Grace Grenades are selected as standalone items and are not a full endorsement of any other items or activities of a particular ministry or person. However, if a grace grenade is tagged with “Official Grenade Launcher” it means we recommend and are comfortable with their public offerings.
