“This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth” (1 Timothy 2:3-4).
When the Philippian jailer asked the apostle Paul, “What must I do to be saved?”
Paul answered, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.” The answer hasn’t changed over time. God wants everyone to find salvation through His Son, Jesus.
Religion gives us rules to follow and duties we are to perform. God still says, “Believe in the Lord Jesus.” The good news is that once we believe we are changed. We, who were sinners, become children of God with a brand new nature at the moment we believe.
I find it mind-boggling that God knew when He created Adam and Eve that He would someday have to sacrifice His Son, Jesus, for the redemption of all mankind. He created us anyway because He so much wanted us to be part of His family. He has done everything He can do to get us to heaven. All He asks of us is that we believe in His Son, Jesus.
