• I don’t have to identify with every thought that comes to my attention. I know my heart, and so does God. He has renewed me by raising me from the dead with Christ Jesus. I am a new creation in Him. Beating myself up for what I think is like double jeopardy. It’s been settled.
• Sometimes sin is seen as a boogie man (the devil) when really, it’s a symptom of the law. Jesus has already healed me; I need to stop going back to the crutch of my old self-effort. Everything that satisfies is found in Him.
• Next time I encounter a thought that is not from my new heart, I’ll tell it to keep on moving instead of inviting it to stay the night. Sin and shame aren’t my portion anymore. Jesus has given me life abundant and paid for in full every ugly passing thought, so I don’t take ownership.
