- Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. (Hebrews 11:1 NIV) Faith is a noun, not a verb. It is a byproduct of beholding the glory of God and His goodness. Unbelief is unrest, and unrest is disobedience. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience (Hebrews 4:11 NIV)
- Unbelief is awkward and painful. It’s cognitive dissonance. It’s like trying to move my car without gas. How can I expect to get where I’m going? By what substance will I continue my journey? Faith is the taking on of Jesus’ easy yoke – the perfect fit. Faith is realizing my identity in Christ.
- Faith is not wishing, it’s knowing. It’s grasping that I’m not in the waiting room to meet God, but that I have an intimate audience with Him at this very moment. Faith is resting in the truth that God holds me now. As God’s fellow workers, then, we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain. FOR HE SAYS: “IN THE TIME OF FAVOR I HEARD YOU, AND IN THE DAY OF SALVATION I HELPED YOU.” Behold, now is “THE ACCEPTABLE TIME,” behold now is the “DAY OF SALVATION” (2 Corinthians 6:2-3)
